What many piano players and beginners like to find out is how they can teach themselves piano. I mean some piano players may not like being taught off an instructor, as they feel that there scrutinized too much and maybe under pressure to progress.

Happily there’s an alternative way for you to be taught. The best way for you to teach yourself piano is by using online piano lessons.

These piano lessons online are suitable for beginners, intermediates and advanced piano players. Choosing the correct type of course is crucial for your development, so I’ve listed what you should look out for below.

• Choose a course which has been created by a professional piano player.

• Find out the best ways in which you like to learn, is it via video or audio? Then choose accordingly.

• Check out reviews of the most popular piano courses online; however look for in depth reviews, not vague ones.

• Always trial a piano course before buying it outright. Many piano courses allow this.

I would just like to emphasize how important it is for you to find out what type of learning style you like. A good piano course will allow you to learn in a variety of ways, they also need to be fun so that you are motivated to learn.

Some piano courses have enjoyable games integrated into the course; these games improve your piano skills.
As you can see there are a lot of factors in choosing the perfect course, to teach yourself piano you need to get these factors right and you’ll then be able to enjoy playing the piano yourself.

Piano players love improving their memory so that they can play songs without the score in front of them. In this article I will provide you with tips so that you can improve your memory.

I always recommend this for improvement. – You should firstly play a piece that you can play easily without the score in front of you.

You now need to split it into 7-14 bars so that it’s shortened. Your aim now is to create a section which can be repeated or looped and you need to make sure it sounds reasonable.

While playing your piece, try and look away from the printed score in front of you whenever you feel like you can. Repeat this for as many times as you can until you can do it without thinking, then move onto the next bar.

As you are practicing this, you can put together the bars so that everything flows, have a couple of tries at this, you’ll get there in the end.

Practice this everyday and you’ll soon start to easily improve and before you know it you won’t need that printed score in front you.

Here are some more tips –

•	Don’t memorize individual notes, this will hinder you.
•	Any bars that you find hard should be memorized beforehand.
•	Looping your music will help when learning musical pieces

So there you have it, I tried to keep it as simple as possible for you. By doing this your confidence and progression will increase tenfold, as well as your ability to play piano songs.

Getting a good piano can become a little stressful if you don’t know what you should be looking for. For some people getting their first piano is an investment which is likely to last a long time. So making the right decision is essential. In this article I will highlight the main things you should look out for, so pay carefully read on and make that purchase.

Getting your budget right

Some people may get carried away when buying their first piano and may go for something which doesn’t really fit their needs. The general cost of a piano can be anywhere between $400- $12,000, so what will you be using the piano for?

If it’s for family occasions or just general use then you should certainly be looking at the lower spectrum. However if your looking to take your piano education serious, then you may have to fork out that extra bit of cash and get a good piano which will last a long time.

Piano Size

When evaluating what piano to get, you need to be thinking about space. So make sure that you have sufficient room space to fit a piano. Little things like these can be irksome, so research height and width of the piano beforehand.

Style

This is a nice dilemma to have as you should have the option of buying a new piano or an antique stlye piano. This type of decision depends purely upon what kind of taste you have, some piano players instantly fall in love with them olden style pianos. So have fun choosing which type, as these types of pianos are normally in great condition.

Bottom Line

Obviously the most important thing to get right is the size and budget. So make this decision wisely as you’ll have a piano which may last you a very long time!

Go to this post for having your first lesson on your new piano. Have fun!

Attitude. This is what stops many piano players getting to that next level. The importance of this is what can make or break many people. Some give up or quit very quickly, because they don’t believe they can play like the Chris Martin’s of this world.

Relaxing and playing in an environment which is comfortable is something which is connected to this. So to relax you need to have a good piano instructor who you feel comfortable with. Many piano players who are beginners feel uncomfortable and nervous when playing In front of someone. If the piano instructor who is teaching you is intimidating, and is making you more anxious when playing then you might have to consider a change.

For some piano beginners they prefer learning online. This may be an option for people who get extremely nervous, as they get to have the freedom of what they want to learn. So bear that in mind.

Performance anxiety can happen to many people, even the greats. Hopefully over time you get over this nervousness and progress onwards. To do this you have to have a carefree attitude when playing, so don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Once this barrier has been overcome then you can work towards rectifying these errors and advancing, while also enjoying playing the piano.

Of course practicing as much as possible on all areas will obviously improve your self esteem, as what you will have learned will inevitably mean that you can link many things together.
